Lower Sac: , by Andrew Harris: 4 stars Brian Kohlman and I shared a fun day guiding a group of four from the Sacramento area. I had Frank and his grandson Jake in my boat. This was Jake's 2nd drift boat fly fishing trip. After a very brief review, he hooked his first fish about 30 seconds into our first drift! They followed that fish with a double hook up minutes later. Our morning was fantastic with fish up to 19" in the net. The fishing was slower in the afternoon. There was a decent hatch of PMDs today plus a few smaller stoneflies hitting the water in the afternoon. The banks are lined with big stonefly casings, too. We should see more stoneflies with the hot weather coming this weekend. Frank and grandson Jake with a double Next 10 open days for Andrew Harris: |
