Lower Sac: , by Andrew Harris: 4 stars

Brian Kohlman and I shared a fun day guiding a group of four from the Sacramento area.  I had Frank and his grandson Jake in my boat.  This was Jake's 2nd drift boat fly fishing trip.  After a very brief review, he hooked his first fish about 30 seconds into our first drift!  They followed that fish with a double hook up minutes later.  Our morning was fantastic with fish up to 19" in the net.  The fishing was slower in the afternoon.  There was a decent hatch of PMDs today plus a few smaller stoneflies hitting the water in the afternoon.  The banks are lined with big stonefly casings, too.  We should see more stoneflies with the hot weather coming this weekend.
