If I may quote Dax here, "you don't know, if you don't go". The Applegate has been running high lately we haven't had many opportunities to fish it. But that didn't stop a hard-core spey rod weilding steelheader like Ryan Buccola of Bend, OR from making the pilgrimage down to Southern Oregon. We rallied to the lower Applegate this morning in the rain wondering what our fate would be. Turns out, we made the right call. The river, while high, looked great, we had it all to ourselves, it stopped raining, birds were flying, bugs were hatching, and wouldn't you know, a winter steelhead ate our swung Dirk Wiggler! SOB,  Dax was right!
