Trinity River: , by Andrew Harris: Salmonid Scouting: 3 stars Katie and I spent a rare day together without the kids on the Trinity River today. We floated the lower river to see if any fish were around yet. Flows are really nice right now, around 1500cfs and the water was a nice cool 60 degrees. The water is dropping steadily and the river is becoming more fishable by the day. We swung a few prime spots with our spey rods, but didn't connect. We did see 20 or so salmon and steelhead swim underneath the boat as we floated, and we also bumped into Dax and client Dennis T, who were on a scouting mission of their own.
