The river is fishing great right now.  I guided Bernard and Catherine from Mill Valley today on the Lower Sac.  We floated from the Posse Grounds to Bonnyview.  The salmon are spawning, with the greatest concentration of spawners upstream from Cypress Bridge.  They will only get thicker over the next few weeks.  We had good luck with a pearl colored egg, but the biggest fish of the day came on a small mayfly pattern.  Some of the fish are still hanging out in their normal lies, but a lot of them are really tuned in to the salmon spawn.  We landed some large fish on nymphs, but the icing on the cake was the dry fly fishing.  We had several opportunities throughout the day, and Bernard and Catherine both landed a great fish right at the end of the day on a dry fly.
