Trinity River Report by Mat Squillante

The fishing's what I'll call "early season" good. A big push of fish hasn't happened yet but it's in the air. The morning's are getting cooler, the flows are dropping, salmon are moving and steelhead are making it to the net. Colin, Andrew and I have all been on the river. We're getting shots at a few solid adults each day with smaller fish filling in the gaps between the bigger ones. Early season means you have a good chance at connecting with a steelhead but without being cold, wet or both. Visit the Confluence site to see who's got days open on their calendar. Some of the year's best fishing is revving up. It's go time!

Lower Sac Report by Mat Squillante

Kevin, Luke, Matt and I have run trips on the Lower Sac the past few weeks. Overall, fishing's been good. We're all looking forward to the coming season, when fish key on eggs and it's game on – it's Luke's favorite time of year. If you're itching for a day on the water, now's the time to book because calendar days get filled quickly – it can be some of the season's best fishing.

Yuba River Report by Mat Squillante

The Yuba's been a gem all season and it hasn't disappointed lately as it continues to fish well. Most fish come under an indicator but Andrew and I, mostly Andrew, were able to get some explosive hopper eats. Like the Feather and Lower Sac, the Yuba has an egg bite Oct & Nov, which delivers excellent fishing. I might even give it a 5 star rating but … TBD.
