Trinity River: , by Andrew Harris: 3 stars It's been a pretty scratchy couple of weeks on the Trinity River. Fish have been scattered and it's been rare to catch more than one fish out of a spot. Today was pretty much the same for clients Steve and Dana from Chico until about 4pm. They both had a brief hookup under their belt by then and we weren't expecting much more action before we hit the take out. Then we found a pod of fish! Steve started with a small wild adult steelie which made our day. Then Dana hooked and landed a 28" hatchery hen that gave him a great fight. In the diminishing light they both had another brief hookup and then Dana landed an even bigger fish, a 29" wild buck that we chased downstream. It was a great end to a beautiful day on the water.
