California:
• At the minimum you will need a freshwater fishing license. For CA residents, these come in one-day, two-day, and calendar year denominations. For non-residents, they come in one-day, two-day, ten-day, and calendar year denominations.
• If you are fishing the Lower Sac, Feather, or Yuba Rivers, you will need a Bay-Delta sportfishing improvement stamp. Note: the Bay-Delta stamp is not required when using a one or two-day license.
• When fishing for steelhead you will also need a Steelhead Catch Report Card.

Oregon:
• At the minimum you will need a freshwater fishing license. These come in one, two, three, four, seven-day, and full season denominations.
• If you are planning two harvest any steelhead, you will need either a Hatchery Harvest Tag or a Combined Angling Harvest Tag.
